VACAVILLE – Save the date for the long-awaited return of the Vacaville Museum Guild Holiday Homes Tour, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 10.
The event will feature seven period homes, all located on Buck Avenue and Main Street in Vacaville.
The doors to the museum will open at 9:30 a.m. Visitors will be able to park once and stroll from place to place, enjoying a variety of styles, from Victorian times to crafts, including a majestic Spanish-style mansion, a magnificent ‘winter wonderland’. a house with 125 Santas, one with the theme “I’ll be home for Christmas” and a “Quilter’s Cottage”, according to a press release.
The tour will begin at the Vacaville Museum, 213 Buck Ave., where visitors will pick up a map and descriptions of the homes on the tour, and enjoy light refreshments, including homemade pumpkin and cranberry breads, fruit, drinks and other holiday treats.
Tickets for various prizes will also be available, including the much-heralded Christmas quilt, assembled by Guild member Candy Kraft and quilted by InStitches of Dixon. Other sets include a set of “The 12 Days of Christmas” porcelain flat plates, a ceramic Christmas chapel, a set of 18 glass plates and a festive platter to sparkle your festive table.
Tickets are $30 and are on sale from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the museum. The museum will be closed Thanksgiving week.
