There are tons of ways to explore local history at the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Center this summer.
This is the place to be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday nights for Open Late events through October. Programs and special exhibits promise to stretch the minds and imaginations of visitors as they discover and rediscover the vast history of St. Catharines. Visitors can even catch a ship passing through Lock 3 of the Welland Canal on a tour.
Saturday morning Tyke rides run until August 27th. Children ages four to eight will earn an official Jr. Engineers badge by taking a trip through Jaycee Gardens or visiting Lock 3 of the Welland Canal with a parent or guardian. Take part in this quick and interactive 45-minute program for only $5.20 per child.
Spend your Sunday mornings in a series of historic outdoor adventures by taking a guided community walk. Participants will travel to notable St. Catharines neighborhoods such as Victoria Lawn Cemetery; Downtown St. Catharines; and Mountain Locks Park. Rides cost $10.35 per adult while children can participate for just $5.20, provided they are accompanied. Walks run until August 28.
