Having proven herself in leadership roles, Seini Fisi’ihoi has been appointed Chief Human Resources Officer of Steamships Trading Company.
Ms. Fisi’ihoi joins a growing number of Papua New Guinea executives and senior managers to help Steamships navigate an exciting future.
She joined Steamships in 2017 as Head of Learning and Development.
After helping localize the Swire Team Leader Development Program, she was promoted to Head of Human Resources in 2021.
Steamships is a strong supporter of PNG talent and a strong supporter of workplace equality.
Steamships Managing Director Rupert Bray said: “Seini has proven itself despite the challenges faced by women in leadership roles and the complexity imposed on the business by managing through COVID-19.
“She is well deserving of the promotion and Steamships is proud of her strong, young management team.”
Ms Fisi’ihoi said the company has been very supportive of her growth as a manager.
“Steamships Board and Management Team have simply supported me to ensure my growth.
“As a working mom, I’m thrilled to be part of an organization that cares so much about all of its employees. I look forward to helping guide the human resources function as we plan for our next hundred years of growth,” she said.
Ms. Fisi’ihoi studied biology at the University of Papua New Guinea. After graduating she worked in hospitality, retail, administration and spent time in a FIFO role in the Southern Highlands Province before specializing in HR at SP Brewery.
She is part of the management team of Steamships.
Steamships’ vision is to create businesses that build PNG, and Ms. Fisi’ihoi will contribute to this goal through the development of Steamships’ staff and leadership teams.
