Maltese President visits the National Museum of Qatar

Maltese President George Vella, his wife and the accompanying delegation visited the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) on Sunday.
During the visit, he was informed about the most important collections of the NMoQ and heard a detailed explanation of the museum’s precious objects by HE the Deputy Director General of Museums and Director of the National Museum of Qatar Sheikha Amna bint Abdulaziz al-Thani .

President Vella signed the honorary record of the NMoQ, expressing his admiration for the cultural building, its architectural design and the treasures it contains.

He also visited the galleries that showcase the life of Qataris on land and on the coasts, as well as the traditional architecture of Qatar. The President was also briefed on the most important collections related to pearl and jewelry design, in addition to Qatar’s modern history galleries.
HE Sheikha Amna presented a commemorative book on the museum to the President, who in turn presented a luxurious publication of a document depicting the oldest literary work written in the Maltese language dating back to the Middle Ages.
President Vella signed the honorary record of the NMoQ, expressing his admiration for the cultural building, its architectural design and the treasures it contains.
President Vella was accompanied during the tour by the Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Qatar Embassy in Malta Khalid Ali Abdullah Abel and the Ambassador of Malta in Doha Charles Sultana.
